discerning God's voice.

Hi, brothers and sisters!
Lately, God has been teaching me to differentiate between my voice and His voice.
It was easy to tell them apart when I didn't have the same desires as God.
And it gets dicier when I ask Him to direct every single step of my way.
This is what I have found and am convicted of:
God doesn’t excuse an action that goes against Biblical principles.
Just because the voice uses my name, it doesn't mean it is God talking to me.
If the voice is not absolutely authoritative, but instead sounds human with human feelings, then it is just me.
Directives without rhyme or reason are suspect.
For example, I heard myself say to myself more than once, "Just do it, Hannah," in an exasperated tone.
However, I was convicted by the Holy Spirit not to do it. I absolutely couldn't bring myself to do it, and I have heard exhortations from other Christians not to do it either.
Stay on course in Jesus' name, amen?
